2nd Grade - 1st and 2nd Quarter Music Benchmarks

 

Pr4.2 Analyze – A. Demonstrate knowledge of music concepts from a variety of cultures

* I can read and perform rhythms with quarter notes, eighth notes, and

            quarter rests with correct rhythm and to a steady beat

 

Pr6.1 Present – A. Perform music for a specific purpose with expression and technical accuracy

  1. Apple correct techniques during performance

* I can perform a repeating melodic or rhythmic pattern (ostinato) with

            correct rhythm, accurate pitch, and to the beat of the music

 

Re7.2 Analyze - A. Identify the use of specific musical concepts in various styles of music.

    * I can audiate and tell if a melody or rhythm pattern is same or different.

 

 

 

2nd Grade - 3rd & 4th Quarter Music Benchmarks

 

 

Pr4.2 - A.  Demonstrate understanding of the structure and the elements of music

* I can read and perform rhythms with quarter note and rest, half note, and eighth notes.

* I can listen and identify rhythms with quarter notes, eighth notes, half notes, and

           quarter notes and rests.

* I can listen to, identify, and sing solfege patterns  - so, mi, and la.

* I understand the concepts of the repeat sign, tempo, and ostinato,

 

Pr4.2 – B. Sing or play using a variety of simple songs alone and with others, containing level-appropriate expressive elements and elements of music

* I can sing a song with accurate pitch and pronunciation.

* I understand and apply the criteria to sing on pitch.
