Welcome to the SLES English Learner (ELL) Program! The EL Program provides supplementary instruction to support language development and the attainment of the content standards. Mrs. Horikoshi (Grades K-2) and Ms. Mabuni (Grades 3-6) along with Part Time Teachers Ms. Oshiro and Ms. Bracewell provide services based upon the individual needs of the students. Student supports range from pull-out, inclusion and tutorial support.
ACCESS for ELLs Test Info
ACCESS for ELLs is the annual statewide assessment for all English Language Learners (ELL) that measures English Language Proficiency. There are four test domains: Listening, Reading, Writing, and Speaking. All ELL students will take the ACCESS test during the test window.
Test Window: January 14 - February 26, 2020
Test Demo & Sample Items can be viewed at www.wida-ams.us at the bottom of the page under "Public Test Resources."
- Scores range from 1.0 to 6.0.
- An overall score of 5.0 is needed to exit the ELL program.
- Overall scores are not an average of the four domains; instead they are calculated with 15% Listening, 15% Speaking, 35% Reading, 35% Writing.
