Salt Lake Elementary School 55th Anniversary May Day Celebration!

Aloha Parents and Families! We are thrilled to invite you to our special 55th Anniversary May Day Celebration on Friday, May 15, 2026, from 9:00 am to 10:00 am.

Our theme this year is I ka wā ma mua, i ka wā ma hope, which translates to "We look to our past as a guide to our future". Students from Kindergarten through 6th grade have been working incredibly hard to prepare wonderful performances, including traditional hula to songs like "Puamana" and "Pūpū A‘o Ewa," upbeat dances to the "Hawaiian Roller Coaster Ride," and a special original finale song written by our very own teachers.

To help make this a memorable, safe, and enjoyable event for everyone, please keep the following important details in mind:

  • Seating: Parents and guests will have a designated "Open Seating" area on the grassy field. We encourage you to bring a mat to sit on. Out of courtesy to others, please do not open umbrellas so that everyone can enjoy an unblocked view of the students' performances.
  • Photos & Videos: There is a specific photo area marked with stanchions located directly in front of the stage. You are welcome to use this area to take pictures and videos during your child’s specific performance. Once they are finished, we kindly ask that you return to your seat to allow other parents the opportunity to capture their children.
  • Parking: On-campus parking is reserved for STAFF ONLY. We recommend street parking, but please be sure to check the street signs, as street sweeping does occur on Fridays. There will be a limited number of stalls available at Salt Lake District Park
  • Playground: For safety and focus, the use of the playground equipment is prohibited during the May Day program.
  • Restrooms: Restrooms are located downstairs in the E building.
  • Plant Donations Needed: We are still looking for donations of tropical plants and foliage (such as Ti leaves, Monstera, Ferns, and Ginger) to help decorate and bring our performance stage to life!. If you are able to donate, please sign up using the link or QR code provided on our donation flyer.

We look forward to celebrating 55 years of Dolphin PRIDE with our wonderful community. Mahalo for your continued support!
