All HIDOE schools and offices closed Monday, Feb. 9
Following Gov. Josh Green’s announcement Sunday regarding severe weather conditions impacting the state, and in alignment with his directive, the Hawaiʻi State Department of Education will implement the closure of all public schools and HIDOE offices statewide on Monday, Feb. 9, due to current storm conditions.
Applicability
- This closure applies to all HIDOE public schools as well as state, district and complex area offices.
- This direction applies only to the conditions associated with the current severe weather event and does not establish a standing practice for future closures.
- All employees are excused from reporting to worksites tomorrow unless specifically notified by their supervisor.
Students and families
- There will be no in-person instruction on Monday, Feb. 9.
Additional updates
- The Department will continue to monitor conditions in coordination with state and emergency management officials.
- Information regarding reopening or additional closures will be communicated through official channels as soon as it becomes available.
